A Journey of Hope and Impact
Idhayangal Charitable Trust began its journey in 2017 by supporting 10 children with Type 1 Diabetes with ₹5,000 each towards their medical needs. Today, Idhayangal supports 4,200+ children across India, including 3,580 children across all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu.
The number of children needing support is growing by nearly 5% every Year, which is a major concern. Our vision is clear: “No single poor child with Type 1 Diabetes should suffer from a lack of the best treatment needed to lead a happy, healthy and productive life.”
Over the years, our support has expanded beyond medical assistance to include education, sustainable livelihood support, monthly provisions, and other essential needs of children and their families.
- Our Beginning
Two Decades of Growing Compassion
In 2017, a vision was born — to ensure that every child living with Type 1 Diabetes has access to life-saving insulin, essential care, and the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life, regardless of their family’s financial situation.
Idhayangal Charitable Trust began its journey by supporting 10 children living with Type 1 Diabetes, providing ₹5,000 each towards their essential medical needs.
As the need for affordable diabetes care continued to grow, our support expanded to reach more children and families who struggled to meet essential medical expenses.
Our work grew beyond financial assistance, helping children access insulin, essential medical consumables, treatment support, and other critical healthcare needs.
We expanded our support to education, helping children living with Type 1 Diabetes continue their studies without allowing financial challenges to stand in the way of their future.
Our journey expanded to include monthly provisions, sustainable livelihood support, counselling, and other essential assistance for children and their families.
Today, Idhayangal Charitable Trust supports 4,200+ children across India, including 3,580 children across all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu.
